New! Loving Memory Glass Stones

Posted by Molly Krava on March 23, 2012 (0 Comments)

Rockwater Glass is now offering me a unique service and new product with "Loving Memory Stones".  I am now making glass "memory" stones in a couple of different sizes and several options in any color combo really that you wish. I use the irridescent dichroic glass mixed with the ashes of your beloved pet, which becomes encased in the stone in a unique way that I can turn into jewelry, or I sell the raw stones if someone wants to make their own jewelry.

With the raw stones (no embellishments) I sell a large, about a 3" oval for $5 each
Squares small or large $4 each
Small  oval or round about 1" $4 each
                               Custom shapes (price varies)

  • Include an attached silver or gold plated pendant bail (attached using a super strong epoxy) for an additional fee of $10
  • Sterling silver chain 16" or 18" inch $5
  • Rubber cord pendant hanger $2
  • A unique wire wrapped memory glass piece including a handmade sterling silver wire bezel for $25
  • Custom hand made jewelry piece made out of  hand metal smited sterling silver that I make in my home studio. (price varies by custom piece). I can make bracelets, earrings and pendants which are totally handmade and extremely unique.
  • Custom handmade precious metal clay silver and glass jewelry (price varies by piece)

Here's how it works,

  •  I do require payment in advance. I accept Paypal  payments as mollymch@bellsouth.net,

Online credit card payment made over the phone, and soon online payment for these new offerings will be available online (in the next day or 2).

I email an invoice after we decide your design wishes and figure out how many stones you want and what color and shape you wish them to be. Also, we can discuss if you only want raw stones or a finished piece of jewelry as a bail attachment, wire wrapped, or custom piece of jewelry.  I then require a small amount of the beloved pet's ashes, not more then a teaspoon for most glass pieces which you can send to me in the regular mail.I provide my address on the order invoice.

I can make the glass in any color combo of glass that you wish! The glass does kind of have a mind of it's own and I am never quite sure what the inclusions of the ash will do inside the glass, but that just  makes it  more interesting. To me it's as if the glass makes itself. It is an honor for me to make a piece of glass or finished jewelry that captures the memory of someone's loving pet in their heart and as a cherished piece that they can wear forever. Please email me at rockwaterglass@gmail.com to discuss making your unique loving memory glass piece. For loose stones, or pendants made with the ashes and attached to a silver or gold plated pendant, go to:http://www.rockwaterglass.com/collections/loving-memory-stones as those are available, custom made so give them a couple of days. Thanks for stopping by!

Spring  seems a bit early this year after a mild winter and I am hitting the ground running with lots of appearances and classes. Along with the classes scheduled at Oakhurst garden. I also have an upcoming class March 29th, in Tucker Georgia at Main Street School of Art, thanks to owner Laurie Morrison, who is allowing me to use her wonderful space again! Here are the details:

Basic Glass Fusing Class
Thursday, March 29 from 7:00-9:30 PM
Adults (Wine and snacks are welcome)
at Main Street School of Art, 2323 Main St, Tucker GA

Join Molly Krava of Rockwater Glass to learn the basics to make your own colorful, handmade fused/slumped art glass using several glass elements together. In this 2 hour workshop, students will design one dish and 2 glass stones which could be used for jewelry or magnets (all hardware is also included as well as glass elements). Pieces are designed in class using clear glue to hold it all together. Molly will then carry the designed pieces back to her home studio to fire in her kiln, bringing them back later for pick up (within 1 week). This workshop is great fun with a friend or solo! The cost is $40 per person and includes everything you need to make 3 pieces of beautiful glass. No experience required, just bring your imagination. Please RSVP by calling 770-938-7880 or email mssoa@bellsouth.net. Space is limited! Payment can be made at time of class.
